Personal traits, work skills, problem solving
Descriptor: Critical thinking, analysis, flexibility, ethics, organization, humor, ability to learn, professionalism, attention to detail, time management, cultural awareness, diversity, lifelong learning
The descriptor for this category is full of intangibles, so I will use this area to put forth some of my ideals and examples of my work ethic.

I consider myself a Type-A personality. I have my own definition for that term. I pride myself on meeting deadlines. I am also punctual, preferring to be fifteen minutes early rather than two minutes late. But I cannot just sit and wait when I am early. I have a jump rope in my car, so while I am waiting for very casual things, such as my childrens' extracurricular activities to begin or end, I get in a few minutes of exercise. In a more professional setting, if I am waiting for a business meeting or a doctor appointment, I have either a book, or flash cards for whatever I happen to be obsessed with at the time.

I volunteer at church in the nursery. I have an ulterior motive. I want my children to go to Sunday School. By taking on the responsibility of the nursery, I assure myself that I will not wake up one lazy Sunday and decide that it's too nice to go to church. I have made a commitment and I will stick to it. In this way I am also setting an example for my children.

When I am not working on my next degree, I am working on my next certification. I am a certified CompTIA A+ Technician, a Microsoft Access Expert, and a Microsoft Certified Expert. Last year, I completed the Management Certificate at Princeton University. I am currently working towards a Master's degree in Instruction at Drexel University, with an add-on certificate in instructional technology..

Books I recently finished reading include Jakob Neilsen's Prioritizing Web Usability and his Designing Web Usability. Books I am currently reading include Information Architecture for the World Wide Web, by Peter Morville and Louis Rosenfeld and Classroom in a Book: Adobe InDesign CS2. I just ordered from Amazon some "how-to" books as my department needs to move away from MS Access and towards a PHP/MySQL solution for collecting data. They include MySQL Tutorial, by Luke Welling and Laura Thomson, and Learning PHP 5, by David Sklar

What is on my iPod? Neil Diamond, Enrique Iglesias, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Moulin Rouge, High School Musical, Grease, and Dreamgirls soundtracks, George Michael, Guns and Roses, and the best....Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet.
