A Penguin in Love - by Julie Angarone

A penguin in love is loyal.
A penguin in love is true.
A penguin in love makes an egg with his mate.
And cares for it the whole winter through.

The baby penguin emerges, and drinks from his papa's mouth.
The mother is nowhere around, for food she has headed south.
The babies play together and huddle for warmth when the wind blows
The mother returns with food for her young whom she instantly sees and knows

The instincts of penguins lead them
On their plight to love, mate, and care
The rest of the species could learn from the penguin
Whose greatest joy is to share

He shares his love with his chosen one
He shares his food with his young
He's there and he cares and never will stray until his job is done.
